Measure the widest part of your hand

Measure the widest part of your hand — not your wrist. Bangles pass over your knuckles, so that is the measurement that matters. It takes about a minute and it is the difference between a bangle you wear and one you post back.

    Bring four fingers together

    Hold your hand flat and press all four fingers tightly together. Keep your thumb tucked in. This mimics the shape your hand makes when sliding a bangle on.

    Wrap a tape or string

    Wrap a soft measuring tape, or a strip of paper or string, snugly around the widest part of your knuckles. Mark the point where it meets and measure in centimetres. This is your hand circumference.

    Match to the chart

    Find the row where the bangle's inner circumference is just above your hand measurement. If you fall between two sizes, always size up. Bangles should slide over the hand with slight resistance — not cut into skin.

Indian bangle sizes are inches and sixteenths of the inner diameter. Size 2.4 is 2 4/16 inch, which is 2.25 inch across.

Inner circumference is the inner diameter multiplied by pi. Match your hand measurement against the circumference column.

The one rule

Between two sizes? Always size up.

A bangle should slide over the hand with slight resistance — not cut into skin. A size too large still wears. A size too small does not go on at all.

  • Measure a bangle you already own

    Already own a bangle that fits well? Lay it flat and measure the inner diameter across the centre with a ruler. Convert to centimetres and match it to the diameter column. This is the most accurate method for glass bangles.
